Bob Findlay is a Scots-born rock musician now residing in Tasmania.
He returned to the music industry in 2007 in a recording capacity after a 7-year
hiatus due to a long battle with alcoholism.
Bob formerly played in Tasmanias’ top band until the mid-90s, but left basically due to cynicism towards the industry & also to focus on his Nursing career. During this period he was married & is the father of two children.
He had a brief stint recording & playing acoustic gigs; quite a change from the band scene, however alcohol abuse led to his divorce in 2002.
Bob played only a handful of acoustic gigs after this as alcohol got the better of him (he never drank when he performed).
In April 2007, He moved to Stanley on Tasmanias' far North-West Coast after one too many hospitalisations. He took to recording again with the sole purpose of alcohol distraction but it has escalated rapidly and he is now receiving extensive and consistent airplay in commercial and internet radio stations.
Bobs’ original music is, in varying degrees, akin to that of The Rolling Stones, The Faces, Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Mick Taylor & Joe Walsh.
He is now focusing on selling his music in mp3 format due to time & financial constraints. He is retired as a State Registered Nurse in June 2009 for health reasons & is now relying on his musical output as his sole income as he feels that, not only is he capable of this, it has been a major factor in maintaining his sobriety. We agree with him & hope that you do too.
We highly recommend that you support this musician. He's earned it.
